Florence has come up with a simple design for a quick Toy Tidy mat, so I thought I'd share it with you. It was really the result of a nasty experience she had when she was doing her first delivery last Christmas. Her boots fell off (well, they were a pair she'd borrowed from Grumbo and a bit on the large size) and she landed on a carpet covered in Lego. It took us quite a while to extricate the piece that had got stuck in her bunion, but I'm happy to say that she made a full recovery.
Anyway, back to the toy tidy play mat- it's very simple to make with just a metre square of fabric and a good length of ribbon or tape, or you could even use string. You could use it for Lego, but also it does for hastily tidying away all the toys surrounding babies who can't yet crawl when someone visits unexpectedly and you simply haven't time. You just grab the tape in a few places and hang it up somewhere with all the toys caught inside. I am thinking we need a giant one for some of the FCs! I've put the instructions and a few pictures of Florence's prototype below.
